The aim of the present investigation was to study the general conduct of the students and parental attitude towards their children as perceived by the teachers of Kolkata and Howrah district of West Bengal. Accordingly, a group of 300 teachers (150 from Kolkata and 150 from Howrah) were selected as sample in this investigation. Equal gender ratio was also followed in this investigation. A general information schedule, perceived general conduct questionnaire and perceived parental attitude questionnaire were administered to them by giving proper instruction. The findings revealed that general conduct of the students as perceived by the teachers of Howrah district is comparatively better than that of the Kolkata city but overall picture revealed some good and some bad opinion as expressed by the teachers in this context. Gender-wise comparison revealed no significant difference between the two groups, but it has been proved that duration of service in the same school has some impact in this regard. The more the duration of service, the better is the perception. Although overall picture revealed negative opinion in connection with the parental attitude towards their children as perceived by the teachers, still comparatively better opinion was given by the teachers of Howrah district than that of the Kolkata city. Here also, the more the duration of service in the same school, the better is the perception in connection with the parental attitude towards their children as perceived by the teachers.
