Abstract

The objective of the present study was to compare the self concept, anxiety and depression in married and unmarried women of Tripura. The study was carried out at Agartala and its suburban areas covering 100 women (50 married and 50 unmarried women). Data were collected using Self Concept Scale, State Trait Anxiety Inventory and Beck Depressive Inventory.  Four hypotheses were formulated and they were verified by applying t-tests. Findings revealed that married and unmarried women differed significantly in regard to their self concept, state anxiety and depression in comparison to unmarried women.
